Ode 17:24
On as the years gone by, I look in wonder of all the view Think of you I look up and wonder too Do you see it too? I think of you I wonder how you do I dream of you Do you think of me too? We had our days Remember how we’d play? It’s not the same Try to move on but I've lost my way, I've lost my way You've lost your way, we've lost our way You've lost your way, You've lost your way I've lost my way, we've lost our way I don’t understand what went wrong I thought I knew you best Tried to do all that I could do I tried to give my best (i tried to) Those years are through It’s lost and it’s done It’s torn in two Oh what have we become We’ve failed our youth We’ve declined our fate No dream come true We’ve both made our mistakes I won’t undo What can’t be undone That might be true, But you’re still Number One Those years we spent I cling to them tight I won’t forget You’d been there all my life . Though we have changed We’ve lived different lives It’s not the same but I need you in my life Through all we’ve been You’re still my best friend Till time runs thin I’ll wait until the end _ So you can find me (I’ll be right here) Know that deep within (I’ll be right there) Know that you’ve still got me (I’ll be right here) Waiting till the end Till we meet again Live our lives and take our time and Hoping you take care It’ll be just fine It’s not too late It’s not too late We’ll be ok Do what it takes We’re on our way We’re on our way To find someday We’ll find a way We’re on our way We’re on our way To find someday We’ll find a way It’s not too late It’s not too late We’re on our way We’ll find a way Though we have changed We’ve seen different sides It’s not the same but I need you in my life Through all we’ve been You’re still my best friend Till time runs thin I’ll wait until the end / {Know that you’ve still got me Waiting till the end} Even through the pain, I’ll still think fondly of who we used to be Even though things change You’re still you and I will still be me Even to this day, You’ll always be within my heart, Always Even to this day, Always

about

i thought i was ready to let go
and place my first project as tim tam tum to rest, earlier last year.
but life set an unexpected turn of events and made me realize i still had unfinished business.
there was still more that i needed to say, as that person that i once was.

please join me as i once again attempt to make my closing statement as tim tam tum.

this song, like the others on the album,
was primarily written around 2015-16, about 5 years ago at this point.
it was composed as a fond yet painful remembrance of precious times seemingly lost forever.
being the title track of the album, as well as its finale, it was meant to be the defining piece of the project, yet it became too daunting of a task to fully complete.
i left it to be finished when everything drew to a close, a memoir that would encapsulate my full retrospective feelings on the situation at hand.

after years devoid of closure, it felt fitting to perhaps just move on and leave the past behind.
to drop my obsessions with what was lost,
and to look forward.
i think at the time of my previous release, this was a necessary course of action.

now life has brought me back to face these old memories, once again.
i bring myself forward to embrace them with everything that i have,
scars and all.
